Severance Review
Employers have the option of offering a terminated or laid-off employee a severance agreement. By these agreements an employer will often agree to make cash and benefit payments in exchange for an employee’s waiver of legal rights and assumption of new legal obligations. Severance agreements are contracts that employees have no obligation to sign.
